Western Force hooker Folau Fainga'a is set to miss his side's New Zealand leg of Super Rugby games following an injury.

The 27-year-old sustained a head knock during his side's 21-18 victory over Moana Pasifika last weekend.

He is now set to undergo a 12-day concussion protocol before he will be assessed again.

"Folau took a shoulder to the head, which I think was a HIA, so that's why he didn't come back on," Cron said.

"I believe it'd be 12 days (that he's ruled out). Nine times out of 10 (that's the case), but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

"We'll let that pan out and see what happens.

"But if he has problems or it's in the best interests of him for us to look after him, then obviously we've got Feleti in the background now, who's just built back (with running loads on Saturday)."

Force are positioned sixth in the Super Rugby Pacific table with two wins from three matches until now.
