Fiji duo taken to custody in France

Fiji pair Vuidravuwalu Waisea and Josaia Raisuqe have been arrested on Sunday early morning following an incident in a nightclub in Paris.

According to a source, the pair was taken in to police custody at around 03:00 GMT after a woman accused the duo of sexually assaulting her. The duo were also charged with assaulting the victim's friends, who tried to defend her during the incident.

The Stade Francais duo were claimed to have been drunk during the celebration of Raisuqe's 23rd birthday. Both Waisea and Raisuqe will be appearing in a court in France on Monday.

In a statement released by Stade Francais, the Top 14 club condemned any violence against women and has promised to take appropriate actions, if the charges are proved.

Waisea has made 16 international appearances for Fiji and joined Stade in 2013, making over 100 appearances for the French club.
