England back row Tom Curry has suffered another injury setback ahead of the upcoming Rugby World Cup campaign in France.

Curry missed the start of this year's Six Nations campaign before returning midway through the tournament only for another hamstring injury forcing him to miss the entire competition. He is yet to feature for England since Steve Borthwick took in charge.

Just when he was hopeful to make a comeback, the 25-year-old now has twisted his ankle in a training session which could keep him on the sidelines for a period of two weeks.

England defence coach Kevin Sinfield assured that Curry will not be rushed back from the injury but is also hopeful that he could be part of the side in one of the warm-up game leading to the showpiece event.

“We’re very hopeful,” said Sinfield.

“We don’t think it will take long, but we’ll be smart with him as well.”

England coach Borthwick is set to announce the 33-man World Cup squad on Monday.
