Sale fly-half Danny Cipriani is among the 26 players announced by England head coach Eddie Jones to take part in a three-day training camp in Brighton.

The squad also features as many as eight uncapped players, including Northampton’s New Zealand-born flanker Teimana Harrison, Charlie Ewels and Ollie Devoto of Bath, Harlequins’ Kyle Sinckler, Sale pair Tommy Taylor and Mike Haley, London Irish’s Alex Lewington and Newcastle’s Micky Young.

Dylan Hartley, who made a comeback for Northampton on Saturday against Gloucester will lead the squad that will take on Warren Gatland’s Wales at Twickenham on 29th May.

Players from Saracens, Exeter, Wasps and Leicester have not been included as the teams will be competing in the Aviva Premiership play-offs on 21st and 22nd May.

While making the announcement of the squad, Jones said the training camp held at the Brighton College between 17th and 19th May will be a perfect opportunity for the squad to regroup ahead of the Wales clash and the Australian tour.

"The Brighton training camp is a good opportunity for England to get together and train hard ahead of the Wales game and summer tour.

"While we will be without those players involved in the Premiership semi-finals, it's crucial that we spend as much time together as possible.

"We have an important game at Twickenham at the end of the month, and then a challenging tour to Australia. It's a challenge that really excites us, and we are looking forward to starting our preparation.

Despite their recent Grand Slam victory, Jones expects a challenging tour of Australia and is hoping for the players in the training camp and also those involved in the play-offs to grab the opportunity.

"We know the speed of the game in Australia will be considerably higher than the RBS 6 Nations, so this short camp, as well as the preparation time ahead of Wales, is going to be vital to our progression.

"Tour places are still up for grabs, and I expect the players in this camp - as well as those involved in the play-offs - to continue to make their case for selection."
