As England coach Eddie Jones is set to unveil the 30-man squad for the autumn internationals, the focus will remain on his selection of flankers.

The 45-man elite player squad which was named earlier will be trimmed to 30 on Friday as they will take part in a three-day training camp in Brighton on Sunday to aid their preparations for the November Tests.

James Haskell, who played a key role in England's 3-0 series win in Australia has been ruled out with a foot injury while Jack Clifford is also set to miss the autumn internationals after undergoing an ankle surgery.

Former England captain Chris Robshaw could have been used at seven in the absence of Haskell and Clifford but Jones has already ruled out that option and so does Nathan Hughes, whose future lies elsewhere in the back row according to Jones.

"Robshaw's not an option. He's a six," said Jones.

Teimana Harrison looks to be the favourite among the options available to Jones to replace Haskell despite he was replaced in the 31st minute during the first Test against Australia in Sydney after he was outgunned by the physicality of Will Skelton and Sekope Kepu.

Jones, who described South Africa as "bullies" urged the Northampton flanker to prove his mettle in the Aviva Premiership to make a case for selection in the national team.

"Harrison needs to show that he can physically take those guys on," Jones said.

Gloucester flanker Matt Kvesic, Wasps duo of Sam Jones and Guy Thompson along with Will Evans, who was part of the Under-20 World Cup winning England team are the other options Jones might consider too.

Meanwhile, England continue to wait on the fitness results of Dylan Hartley and Owen Farrell, who are currently sidelined with back injuries.
