Toulon have confirmed that South Africa international Eben Etzebeth will join the French club after the 2019 World Cup.

The news follows after the Top 14 side also confirmed the signing of New Zealand wing Nehe Milner-Skudder, who will join the club following the end of the 2019 Super Rugby season from Hurricanes effectively ending his chances of featuring for All Blacks in the showpiece event next year.

According to French publication, Minute Sports Rugby, the 27-year-old could earn in excess of €1 million (about R17 million) a year at Toulon where he will join other South African players - Marcel van der Merwe, Juandre Kruger, Jacques Potgieter and JP Pietersen.

Etzebeth made his professional rugby debut with Western Province in 2012 with his Super Rugby debut coming in February that year.

The 6 ft 8 in lock has featured for the Springboks 75 times since his debut in 2012 and was recently part of the November series Test against Wales at Millennium Stadium.
