Clermont's Rabah Slimani set to be sidelined for four months

Clermont is set to miss the services of France international Rabah Slimani in the initial stages of the 2022/23 season due to an injury.

The 32-year-old sustained a rupture on the biceps tendon of the left arm during Clermont's Top 14 opening game against Stade Francais last weekend which they went on to lose 18-24.

A statement released by the club revealed that Slimani has underwent a surgery on Tuesday and is expected to be on the sidelines for up to four months.

Slimani played for Stade Francais between 2008 and 2017 following which he switched to Clermont. He has featured for France in 57 Tests between 2013 and 2019.

Clermont will be facing Pau in the second round of Top 14 at Parc des Sports Marcel Michelin on 10th September.
