Former England international Christian Wade has returned back to rugby union after signed by French club Racing 92.

Wade made his professional rugby debut with Wasps in 2011 and has made 165 appearances for the club scoring close to 500 points.

He also had represented England Under 20 and Saxons before going on to make his England debut in 2013 which was also his solitary Test appearance. Wade was also selected for the British and Irish Lions during the 2013 tour of Australia but did not feature for them in any of the Tests.

The news was confirmed by a statement released by the club.

"Racing 92 formalises the arrival of winger Christian Wade (31) in its men's professional team," read the statement.

"He joins the Ciel et Blanc squad as an additional player and is committed until the end of the 2022/23 season."

Wade made a switch to the NFL in 2019 after signed by Buffalo Bills but had been a free agent after being dropped by the club.

"I'm excited to announce I've officially signed for Racing 92," he tweeted.

"Looking forward to working with this special group of people and winning championships! With God, all things are possible."
