Chiefs prop Jared Proffit will be facing a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday following his red card incident in the recently concluding Super Rugby Pacific game against Brumbies.

Proffit was sent-off in the closing stage of the game for making a dangerous tackle on Brumbies lock Caderyn Neville.

He was cited for a breach of Law 9.13 that deals with A player must not tackle an opponent late or Dangerously. Dangerous tackling includes but is not limited to tackling or attempting to tackle an opponent above the line of the shoulders.

Despite the incident, the Chiefs went on to win the encounter 46-12 riding on tries from Xavier Roe, Etene Nanai-Seturo, Damian McKenzie, Josh Ioane, Liam Coombes-Fabling and Cortez Ratima. It was their second win from as many games as the Chiefs are at the top of the table.

Proffit will attend the judicial hearing via a video conference on Wednesday with the panel comprising of Nigel Hampton KC (Chair), Mike Mika and John Langford.
