South Africa winger Cheslin Kolbe expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of participating in his inaugural Test match at Ellis Park this Saturday.

Ellis Park holds a special place in South African rugby history as it was the venue where the Springboks achieved a fairytale victory to secure their first-ever Rugby World Cup title in 1995.

The upcoming weekend will mark the Springboks' final home Test of the season, and they will face Argentina in a crucial match.

A win will be crucial to their chances of winning the tournament and Kolbe is upbeat about the chances.

“I’ve never played at Ellis Park as a Springbok, so if I get the opportunity to play, it would be fantastic,” said Kolbe.

“The atmosphere at the stadium is electric and we’d love it if people come out in numbers and support us. It’s our last home game before we leave for the World Cup, so it would be special to play in front of a passionate crowd.”

The 29-year-old also highlighted the improvement the Springboks need as they look to remain alive in the competition.

“The aerial contest and battle for dominance is going to be big.

"Argentina showed in their last two matches what they can do, and with players in their backline that have played on the Sevens circuit, they’ll pose challenges.”
