Crusaders have announced that hooker Brodie McAlister has signed a new contract with the Super Rugby side until 2025.

The 25-year-old made his professional rugby debut with provincial side Canterbury in 2018 with his Super Rugby debut for Crusaders coming a year later.

He was also one of eight current Crusaders selected for the inaugural All Blacks XV for matches against Ireland A in Dublin on 4 November, and the Barbarians in London on 13 November.

Crusaders head coach Scott Robertson heaped praises on McAlister and his contribution to the club.

“He is a tireless worker and found some great form last season”, said Robertson to the club's official website.

“He’s mastering his craft as a hooker and his best as a Crusader is ahead of him".
