Scotland coach Gregor Townsend has handed Kyle Rowe his first start at fullback in the upcoming Six Nations opening clash against Wales to be played on Saturday.

The decision follows after Blair Kinghorn misses out on the selection after failing to recover from a knee injury.

Co-captain Rory Darge is also unavailable for the encounter due to an injury and as a result Jamie Ritchie moves to openside with Luke Crosbie at blindside and Matt Fagerson at number eight.

Finn Russell will captain the side at fly-half while Ben White partners him at halfback with Sione Tuipulotu and Huw Jones forming the midfield partnership.

Kyle Steyn and Duhan van der Merwe start at right and left wings respectively with Richie Gray partnering with Scott Cummings at second row. The front row comprises of Zander Fagerson, George Turner and Pierre Schoeman while Alec Hepburn and Elliot Millar-Mills are set to make their debut when they come off the bench.
