Bishop Burton travelled to UCLAN and came away with a comprehensive 41-6 win in this BUCS Northern 1A clash in Preston.

Both sides had to cope with very wet and windy conditions in Preston and UCLAN 1st versus Bishop Burton 1st was a tougher encounter than many might have imagined, with a series of powerful Bishop Burton scrums leading to a penalty try that was converted.

When UCLAN attacked down their right flank they were able to make good ground. Bishop Burton showed organised and narrow defence in centre field and several phases of play tested this before eventually conceding penalties.

Despite atrocious conditions both teams tried to run the ball, but it was a powerful forwards display by Bishop Burton that allowed the foundations to be set for a convincing win.

In other games, Liverpool 2s beat ManMet 1s 19-12, Leeds 2s beat Leeds Met Carnegie 2s 21-7, while Sheffield and Hull drew 10-10.
