Hurricanes 56-21 Brumbies, McLean Park
Scorecard

Centre Vince Aso scored hat-trick of tries while replacement Callum Gibbins scored a double as Hurricanes completed a 56-21 win over Brumbies at McLean Park on Friday.

Aso opened the account for Hurricanes with a sixth minute try and few minutes later wing Cory Jane crossed over. Fullback Jordie Barrett added conversions on both the occasions to make it 14-0 for the home side.

However, Brumbies bounced back strong with touchdowns from Tevita Kuridrani, Sam Carter and Joe Powell along with triple conversions from Wharenui Hawera to gain a seven point lead at half time.

Brumbies suffered a setback when Hawera was sin-binned at the start of the second half leading to two more tries for Aso while Gibbins (60', 72'), Mark Abbott (64') and Ngani Laumape (76') all rumbled past the post and Jordie added his seventh conversion.

The 35 point victory has taken Hurricanes to the top of the New Zealand Conference while Brumbies continue to remain at the top in the Australian Conference.
