Queensland Reds have confirmed that Angus Blyth and Seru Uru have signed new deals with the Super Rugby club.

The duo join the likes of Tom Lynagh and Fraser McReight in securing their future with the club for another two years.

Blyth started his provincial rugby debut with Queensland Country in 2017 with his Super Rugby debut for Reds coming a year later. Since then he has gone on to play for his club 48 times.

He was was part of now head coach Brad Thorn’s Queensland U20s program and played for the Junior Wallabies in 2017.

“I am looking forward to the next two years playing for this great state and I am excited to see the development of Rugby in Queensland from a grassroots level through to the professional level, particularly with the development of the new Ballymore Facility and the excitement that hosting the Lions Tour in Australia will bring to the game in the coming years," said Blyth.

“I’ve come through the pathway with a lot of the men in the squad and we’ve formed a special bond along with the coaching staff here at Ballymore, so I feel incredibly privileged to re-sign with the Reds."

Meanwhile, Uru made his Super Rugby debut with Reds in 2020 and has played 31 games for the side since then.

“I’m excited to have re-signed with Queensland Rugby," he said.

“The Reds gave me an opportunity to play Super Rugby and I’m grateful to be staying at Ballymore with a great group of players and coaches."
