All Blacks midfielder Reiko Ioane becomes the latest player to commit his immediate future with New Zealand Rugby after signing a contract extension until the end of 2023.

Ioane also signed a contract extension with Super Rugby club Blues after making his professional rugby debut with the Auckland provincial side in 2015. He made his Super Rugby debut with Blues in 2016 and has become an integral part of the club since then.

He follows the likes of Sevu Reece and Jordie Barrett, who also have penned a new contract until 2024 and 2025 respectively.

“I’m really excited to be signing through until 2023,” said Ioane.

“My time with the Blues has been awesome. I love the turnaround we’ve had and I’m keen to continue building on what we have done as a team.

“With the All Blacks, I feel as though we have started something special. I’m looking forward to a huge Northern Tour and putting in the work to get us in good shape for next year.”

Ioane made his All Blacks debut in 2016 and has featured in 56 Tests starting in 48 games. He was also part of their squad in the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

“Rieko is a young man with a massive amount of international experience," said New Zealand head coach Ian Foster.

"So to have his commitment through till the end of the World Cup is pleasing for us. And hopefully for longer after that.”
