Bristol Rugby 8-42 Harlequins, Ashton Gate
Scorecard

A dominant second half performance from Harlequins saw them trounce Bristol with a 8-42 triumph in their Aviva Premiership clash at Ashton Gate on Friday.

Joe Marchant crossed over as early as in the second minute for the visitors while fly-half Ruaridh Jackson added the extras.

After fullback Jason Woodward and Jackson exchanged penalties, wing Tom Varndell had a historic moment scoring his 91st Premiership try surpassing Mark Cueto's tally on record tries.

Another Jackson penalty stretched Harlequins lead to five points but Bristol suffered a setback when prop Ryan Bevington was sin-binned in the 41st minute.

Replacement Mark Reddish capitalised on the advantage as he went past the line at the start of the second half allowing Jackson with another conversion.

Despite a sin-bin to Tim Visser, Harlequins amassed three more tries through scrum-half Charlie Mulchrone, centre Matt Hopper and flanker James Chisholm to seal a comfortable 34-point victory.

The win also meant Harlequins climbed to the fifth position in the table with 37 points from 14 games while Bristol are still battling relegation languishing at the bottom of the table with 13 points.
