Following the submission of a successful bid proposal, Ormskirk RUFC has been selected as one of only 48 clubs nationwide to have won a pitch consultation by Keith Kent, the RFU Head Groundsman.

Although Tarleton had a few absences due to injury and unavailability they fielded a strong squad of 18 players for the local derby against Ormskirk First XV, and ended up winning by just two points.

Tarleton Seconds welcomed Ormskirk Seconds to Carr Lane on Saturday and with gale force winds blowing across the pitch and dropping temperatures it was not going to be a game for the purists.

Tarleton travelled to Ormskirk for their first league meeting of the season full of confidence on the back of a 94-0 drubbing of North Manchester the previous Saturday.

Tarleton started their 2015-2016 campaign with a Lancashire Plate match against local rivals Ormskirk. This, to my knowledge, is the first time that thir first teams have met in competitive rugby.
