Scorecard

Stormers maintained their winning start in the ongoing Super Rugby season as they blanked Bulls 13-0 at Newlands on Saturday.

This is second clean sweep for Stormers after they defeated Hurricanes 27-0 in the previous round as they occupy the pole position in the South African Conference with nine points while Bulls are at bottom with two defeats.

As Morne Steyn was penalised early for a high tackle, Damian Willemse got Stormers off the mark with a third minute penalty kick. The Stormers fly-half had a chance to double the tally but missed the three-pointer in a low-scoring first half where the teams were scrambling for points.

As the half-time was approaching, Scarra Ntubeni went over the line at the back of a driving maul for the opening try to ensure Stormers completed the first half with a 8-0 lead.

The home side increased their lead further when Johan du Toit and Dillyn Leyds allowed Seabelo Senatla to dot down in the 50th minute which proved the final points in the game as Bulls failed to show any fight letting Stormers to end the game with a 13-0 victory.

Stormers will now face Lions in the third round on 15th February while Bulls' next game will be against Auckland Blues on 22nd February.
