Munster 34 - 3 Benetton Treviso, Irish Independent Park

A clinical performance from Munster saw them brush aside Benetton Treviso challenge with a 34-3 triumph at Irish Independent Park as they kick started their Pro 14 season with a convincing victory.

The last season finalists took control of the game early with Jean Kleyn scoring an eighth-minute try that was set up by the debutant Chris Farrell. Tyler Bleyendaal further extended Munster's dominance when he kicked the extras and four minutes later strolled past the post.

Fly-half Marty Banks provided some respite for Benetton Treviso with a 19th minute penalty that got them off the mark but that remained their only points in the game. On the other hand, Munster stepped up the accelerator with Darren Sweetnam (26'), Alex Wootton (30') and Andrew Conway (34') all scored tries as they finished the first half with a 27-3 lead.

Any chance of a comeback from Treviso was put off by a sin bin to Francesco Minto in the 48th minute that also saw Kleyn crossing over for the second time in the game and Bleyendaal conversion meant Munster completed a 34-3 victory after the final quarter went without a point.
