Samoa international Jordan Lay has signed a short-term deal with Edinburgh until the end of the season.

Lay will join the Myerside outfit ahead of their Saturday's clash against Glasgow Warriors and will replace lock Anton Bresler, who moves to Aviva Premiership club Worcester Warriors.

Lay, who made his international debut in July has featured in five Tests for Samoa.

He said: "I'm very grateful for this opportunity and I'm really excited to be a part of this team, representing this beautiful city. I can't wait to get stuck in, work hard and put my hand up for selection."

Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill, whose team are aiming to complete a festive double over Glasgow on Saturday, added: "Jordan is a young prop with great potential and I'm delighted that he's chosen to join the club at an exciting time of the season.

"He has impressed for Samoa on the international stage and he will no doubt add another dimension to what we're building here at Edinburgh."

Meanwhile, Bresler has joined Worcester Warriors as a replacement for Christian Scotland-Williamson and will reunite with head coach Alan Solomons.

The 29-year-old told his new club's official website: "I'm genuinely excited at the prospect of playing Aviva Premiership rugby and can't wait to get out on the field to show what I can do."
