Wasps on Thursday announced its decision to release Sailosi Tagicakibau due to family reasons.

The New Zealand born 33-year-old joined Wasps in 2014 from London Irish and has made 34 appearances for the six-time Premiership champions. The Samoan international who plays as wing for the Wasps has also made over 150 appearances for the Exiles club and has represented the Super Rugby clubs Chiefs and Stormers as well.

Tagicakibau has played for Samoa in 21 Tests between 2003 and 2011 and has managed to score seven tries in it.

Director of rugby at Wasps Dai Young thanked Tagicakibau for his contribution to the club and wished him the best.

"I'd like to thank Losi for the significant contribution he made to the squad during his time with Wasps," said Young.

"While professional sport is important, family always comes first and I'm sure I speak on behalf of everyone at the club, and for our Wasps supporters, in wishing Losi and his family the very best."

Wasps have signed South Africa international Willie Le Roux and Australia utility back Kurtley Beale for the upcoming season while England fly-half Danny Cipriani will also be making a return to the Ricoh Arena based club. Former Bath centre Kyle Eastmond is also among the club's new signing for the 2016/17 season.
