Ruddock suffers arm injury

Ireland flanker Rhys Ruddock could face a race to be fit for the World Cup after suffering another arm injury during a tour match in Georgia.

The 24-year-old Leinster back row was captain of Emerging Ireland against Uruguay in Tbilisi, but had to be replaced after 30 minutes.

Ruddock broke his right forearm in Leinster's Champions Cup tie against Harlequins in December. Although he returned to action for the PRO12 clashes with Ospreys in February and Scarlets in early March, further surgery was needed.

Ireland are concerned tests could show similar damage this time.

"It is early days, but he will go for an X-ray and the result of that X-ray will tell us where he is," E merging Ireland head coach Allen Clarke said to www. IrishRugby.ie

"He has had a knock there before, but I am not the expert. It would be wrong to second guess the X-ray.

"I have concern for him as an individual, but he is a resilient young man, he will bounce back. It rules him out of the rest of the (Tbilisi Cup) tournament."
