Defending champions Highlanders have revived their Super Rugby campaign after defeating Chiefs by 26-13 at the FMG Stadium Waikato on Saturday.

After losing two out of their last three games, Highlanders went into the match as the underdogs against a rampaging Chiefs side, who had lost just one game out of the nine this season.

The team from Dunedin had a steady start and were leading by a 13-3 margin over Chiefs at the halfway stage with prop Dan Lienert-Brown scoring the only try in the game.

However, All Blacks winger Waisake Naholo scored a brace of tries in the second half to seal the game for Highlanders despite Chiefs managing two tries in the final 30 minutes.

Highlanders next encounter will be against Crusaders in Dunedin on 13th May while Chiefs will host Rebels on 21st May in their next game.
