Lions pick from our Six Nations' regulars

With the British and Irish Lions announcement just around the corner, we create a XV based on appearances in our 'Six Nations standout performers' throughout the 5 rounds. Our opinions will follow the synopsis with a G (going), a N (not-going) and a P (possible).

15 Stuart Hogg (Scotland) - Left the field early in his last Six Nations game, but a shoe-in to be on the Lions' tour bus to NZ. G

14 Elliot Daly (England) - Electric on the wing for England, but uncertainty remains over his true position, could well go as utility back cover. G

13 Garry Ringrose (Ireland) - With Jonathan Joseph looking like the favourite, Gatland would have to see something in Ringrose... P

12 Owen Farrell (England) - After his recent displays for club and country Farrell is a certainty to travel to NZ with his Dad. G

11 Liam Williams (Wales) - Another player out of position, bit of a maveric that gives the back-line something different in attack. P

10 Finn Russell (Scotland) - Played very well in a Scotland side very much on the up, but behind Sexton and Farrell. N

9 Rhys Webb (Wales) - Impressed in the majority of his Six Nations appearances, and there is talk of 3 scrum halves. P

8 CJ Stander (Ireland) - The big South African is just what the Lions need to break down the All Blacks defense. G

7 Hamish Watson (Scotland) - An outstanding tournament, an out-and-out 7, but is dealing with some heavyweight back-rowers. N

6 Sam Warburton (Wales) - Plenty of talk of Warburton being the captain, that aside he'll be on his way to NZ. G

5 Courtney Lawes (England) - Physical as always throughout, but there's a plethora of A-List talent in the row. P

4 Joe Launchbury (England) - MOTM performances, consistant to the end, would be tragic if he wasn't included. G

3 Tadgh Furlong (Ireland) - A familiar face in out front-row select, bursting onto the scene, has to go. G

2 Ken Owens (Wales) - Hooker is another position highly contested, should get in there, but could go either way. P

1 Jack McGrath (Ireland) - Along with his Irish, prop teammate Furlong, he'll be on the plane. G
