Former England international Brian Moore stated that he has recovered from a heart attack after being hospitalised.

The 55-year-old, who has represented England 64 times between 1987 and 1995 confirmed the news on his social media account Twitter.

"As this is starting to get out - I'm in ICU of St George's having suffered heart attack. Thanks to the professionals who saved my life."

Moore was also a member of the England side which won Grand Slams in 1991, 1992 and 1995 and in 1991 he was voted Rugby World Player of the Year. He has also been part of two Lions tours and made five appearances for them.

Earlier, Rugby Football Union wished the former hooker a speedy recovery.

"Wishing @brianmoore666 a speedy recovery. Get well soon Brian," the governing body tweeted.
