Scorecard

Wasps scored eight tries as they defeated Agen 24-52 in their European Challenge Cup dead rubber contest at Stade Armandie on Saturday.

This is just second win for Wasps in the tournament from five games as they are positioned third in Pool 3 while Agen are languishing at the bottom after five successive defeats.

In a high-scoring start, Ashley Johsnon (3'), Josh Bassett (9') and Biyi Alo (20') all scored tries for Wasps while Lima Sopoaga kicked two conversions to make it 19 points for the visitors.

Agen though were still in the hunt with touchdowns from Fernandez Correa in the eighth and 13th minutes as they were trailing by five points. Dai Young's men went on to claim the bonus point with their fourth try coming from Tom Cruse in the 39th minute and Sopoaga followed with the extras making it 14-26.

As the half-time was approaching, Wasps were reduced to 14-men temporarily with Cruse sin-binned and Thomas Vincent
responded with a penalty goal reducing Agen's deficit to nine points at the end of the first half.

Wasps stepped up the gears in the second half and added further tries from Gopperth (50' and 56') and Sam Wolstenholme (54' and 59') to take Wasps' tally past the 50-point mark before Mathieu Lamoulie scored a consolation try for Agen to reduced the losing margin to 28 points.
