Clermont Auvergne dominated the second half where they scored 20 points in the second half as they sealed a 29-9 victory over Toulon on Sunday to progress to the semi-final of European Champions Cup.

The first half saw scrum-half Morgan Parra and Toulon fullback Leigh Halfpenny exchange two penalties each as the scores were levelled 6-6 at half time.

Parra kicked his third penalty at the start of the second half to gain a three point lead and once again Halfpenny replied back to score the equaliser.

The final quarter saw Clermont Auvergne up the ante with Noa Nakaitaci and replacement Damian Penaud going past the line while Parra kicked two conversions and a penalty along with a drop goal from Camille Lopez to seal a 20 point win for the home side.

Clermont Auvergne will now lock horns with Leinster in the semi-final of the Champions Cup which also sees Munster and Saracens facing off each other at Aviva Stadium in the other knock out game.
