Chiefs have stretched their winning streak in this season of Super Rugby to five as they defeated Bulls by 28-12 at FMG Stadium Waikato on Saturday.

Fly-half Handre Pollard scored two penalties in the first 10 minutes to get things rolling for Bulls. Chiefs number 10 and All Blacks international Aaron Cruden got his team off the mark with a three-pointer in the 13th minute but it was negated by Pollard as Bulls maintained a six point lead at half time.

Chiefs also suffered a setback when Sam Cane was replaced early in the game by Mitch Karpik.

The home side showed more intent in the second half with wing Shaun Stevenson strolling past the post in the 50th minute followed by a conversion and a double penalty from Cruden.

Pollard's 61st minute penalty were the only points for Bulls in the second half while touchdowns from Damian McKenzie and Atunaisa Moli completed a 16 point win for Chiefs.
