Australia international Bernard Foley will head to Japan post World Cup after he was signed by Kubota Spears.

The 30-year-old spent most of his domestic career with Waratahs after being part of them between 2011 and 2019 and has represented Sydney Stars, Ricoh Black Rams and New South Wales Country Eagles.

Foley made his debut for Australia in 2013 and has gone on to play 69 Tests scoring 615 points. He is also part of Australia's World Cup squad that will compete in Japan later this month.

“I am delighted to join Kubota Spears,” Foley said to the official website of the club.

“Kubota Spears is a team that has been doing well recently and is passionate about becoming stronger.

“I look forward to being part of such a team and would like to contribute to the team in this year’s top league season.

“I am also grateful for the opportunity to play again in Japan.

“Rugby is more prevalent in Japan, and the top league level is the highest ever.

“I’m really looking forward to the experience of playing in such an environment.”
