Scorecard

A 14-man Montpellier side completely outclassed Castres with a splendid second-half performance to register a 32-14 victory at the Altrad Stadium on Sunday during the 2016-17 European Rugby Champions Cup pool stage clash.

Just a single point separated the two French sides at the end of the first-half.

Montpellier right-wing Timoci Nagusa (36) scored a try for his side as fly-half Frans Steyn successfully made the conversion in addition to scoring a penalty on ninth minute. In response, Castres right-wing Remy Grosso (15) scored a try as scrum-half Rory Kockott missed out on conversion attempt, however, managed to score a couple of penalties to give his side a single-point edge.

Montpellier tighthead-prop Davit Kubriashvili was given a red card on the 18th minute of the game after he charged into the ruck with his shoulder and made contact with Castres lock Thibault Lassale in the face.

The hosts, however, delivered a total knockout performance in the second-half as openside-flanker Kelian Galletier (54), hooker Shalva Mamukashvili (67) and scrum-half Nic White (78) crossed over for tries.

Steyn managed to convert two out of three second-half tries in addition to scoring a three-pointer on 64th minute.

In response, Castres replacement scrum-half Ben Urdapilleta's 41st minute penalty was the only addition to the visitors scoreline in the second-half as they succumbed to a 18-point defeat.

The two sides will meet each other once again on next Sunday for the reverse Pool 4 fixture.
