Samoa back-row Alafoti Faosiliva has been signed by the English Premiership club Worcester Warriors for the upcoming season.

The 30-year-old made his international debut in 2006 for Samoa and has played 18 Tests scoring five tries in it. He has also represented the Samoa Sevens team and was nominated for the IRB International Sevens Player of the Year in 2010.

His club rugby debut, though came in 2011 when he was signed by the French club Toulon and a year later, he made an entry to the English club rugby through Bristol. In 2013, he was signed by Bath and after spending three years with the club, he was released.

Head coach of Worcester Carl Hogg believes the addition of Faosiliva will provide more flexibility to the squad.

"Alafoti is a great athlete and his versatility will add greater strength and depth to our back row," Hogg said.

"He is a big ball-carrier with international experience. Those are key attributes which will stand him in good stead ahead of the new campaign so we're excited about seeing what he can do out on the pitch."

After finishing their previous season at the 10th position, Worcester Warriors will kick-off the upcoming season of Aviva Premiership against the defending champions Saracens at Twickenham Stadium on 3rd September.
