Australia international Will Genia has been named in the Melbourne Rebels line-up for the upcoming Super Rugby clash against Crusaders scheduled to be played on Friday after a successful recovery from a hamstring injury.

The 30-year-old left the field during the 49th minute in the game against Jaguares which Rebels went on to lose 22-25 at AAMI Park and underwent a scan that revealed grade one hamstring strain.

Props Tetera Faulkner and Jermaine Ainsley have been pushed to the bench with Fereti Sa’aga and Sam Talakai taking their places in the starting XV. Geoff Parling makes his first start since the game against Jaguares and Angus Cottrell moves to blindside.

Jack Maddocks will also start at fullback after recovering from ankle injury that kept him out of last weekend's game.

“The Crusaders are obviously a good side. We’ll need to be playing at our best and have a little luck fall our way," head coach David Wessels said.

“We’re delighted to have Will (Genia) back, he obviously brings great experience and leads our side around the park very well.”

Rebels are currently positioned second in Australian Conference with four wins from nine games.
