Wasps director of rugby Dai Young said he is unsure about Danny Cipriani's participation in the upcoming Aviva Premiership clash against Worcester Warriors after he sustained a head injury during last week's encounter against Sale Sharks.

The incident happened in the 79th minute of the game when Sale Sharks scrum-half Faf de Klerk ran into Cipriani, who was rushed to the hospital after the game. Even though he has made a return to the club on Monday, he is yet to undergo the retun-to-play protocols.

"Obviously he was out for a fair time," Young told the Coventry Telegraph.

"It was a nasty knock as everyone one has seen. He's been to hospital as precaution and had CT scans and everything was clear.

"He has to go through the relevant protocols, to make sure there are no ill effects. The protocols are there to be followed so I can't tell you if he is going to be alright this week or next week. He could be alright this week if he goes through all the protocols. It could be this week or it could take three weeks.

"The protocols are there and we will adhere to them 100 percent".

A 28-27 defeat to Sale Sharks saw Wasps slip to the fourth position in the Aviva Premiership table with 56 points from 19 games.
