Scorecard

Wasps maintained their unbeaten streak in the 2016/17 Aviva Premiership season after outclassing Harlequins by 47-18 at Ricoh Arena on Sunday.

Dai Young's men scored as many as seven tries while Jimmy Gopperth added six conversions to set the bonus point victory. The Wasps' onslaught started as early as the third minute when Ashely Johnson successfully touched down but Gopperth failed to add the conversion.

Jamie Roberts responded with a try of his own for Harlequins and the score was levelled 5-5 by the 18th minute.

Wasps secured the bonus point by the 32nd minute after Guy Thompson (20'), Dan Robson (26') and Elliot Daly (32') crossed down and with Gopperth converting all the three tries, they managed a 26-11 scoreline over the Quins.

James Chisholm provided some respite for the Quins with the 37th minute try but they were still trailing Wasps by eight points at half-time.

There were further humiliation for the Quins in the second half as Tim Visser's try was ruled out while fullback Rob Miller (58'), Kyle Eastmond (66') and Josh Bassett (74') scored a try apiece to ensure Wasps completed a 47-18 win.

Wasps rugby director Young described the performance from his team as "ruthless" and warned their best is yet to come.

"We were ruthless without a shadow of doubt. We had four visits to their 22 in the first half and scored four tries.

"That's something we've talked about constantly, and which has been a drum I've been banging since I've been here and it's perhaps taken a while to sink in.

"But you couldn't fault us today, as when we had opportunities we took them.

"I thought we showed some real attacking intent and scored some great tries, and the real exciting factor for me is that there is still a lot more to come from us."
