New Zealand international Waisake Naholo has signed a new one-year deal with Super Rugby club Highlanders.

After featuring for Provincial sides Wanganui and Taranaki, the 26-year-old made his Super Rugby debut with Auckland Blues in 2013 and two years later, he switched to Highlanders.

The 6ft 1in wing made his debut for New Zealand during the 2015 Rugby Championship tournament and was also part of the World Cup winning All Blacks squad under head coach Steve Hansen.

Naholo, who was part of the New Zealand squad in the second Test against British and Irish Lions in Wellington has been capped 13 times at international level in which he has scored six tries overall.

Naholo confirmed the news on the social media platform Twitter.

“Really excited to announce I’ve decided to stay another year with the ‘Landers,” said Naholo.

“I love playing down here and playing in New Zealand, and (I’m) looking forward to another big year next year.”
