Van Wyk, Taute and Elstadt to leave Stormers

The trio of Kobus van Wyk, Jaco Taute and Rynhardt Elstadt have announced their departure from the Super Rugby club Stormers according to sources.

Centre Van Wyk has signed a deal with French club Bordeaux after being part of the Stormers in the last two years. He will be replaced in the squad by South Africa sevens player Werner Kok.

South Africa fullback Taute is on the verge of signing a short-term deal with Munster as reported by South African website Netwerk24. The former South Africa Under 20 player has represented Stormers for three years between 2013 and 2016 while he was also part of the Lions previously.

The South African international was signed by Munster as a replacement for injured Francis Saili.

Lock Elstadt, who has been associated with the Western Province and the Stormers is reported to have signed a deal with Toulouse.

In the 2016 seasons, Stormers ended third overall in the league but lost the quarter-final encounter to Chiefs.
