The meeting held between Premiership Rugby coaches and the Rugby Football Union (RFU) in London on Thursday ended on a positive note.

The talks held in Heathrow was a result of the high intensity training adopted by England coach Eddie Jones in the recently concluded Brighton camp which led to injury of various players including the likes of Sam Jones, Jack Nowell and Anthony Watson.

A Premiership Rugby spokesman confirmed that the club bosses were pleased with the outcome of the meeting with RFU and Jones.

"It was a good meeting, very amicable and constructive, with everyone committed to working together in the interests of clubs and country.

"The nature of any relationship means you have occasional differences.

"The key thing is to work through them and find solutions.

"Today's meeting was part of that process, and we both want the best for club rugby in England and the England team."

While Saracens head coach Mark McCall questioned the training used by Jones with the European Champions Cup around the corner, Exeter boss Rob Baxter criticised the former Australian coach on training Nowell, more than the optimum level.

Despite, losing Sam with an ankle injury for the next few months, Wasps boss Dai Young urged for a better co-operation between the club and the country.

An RFU spokeswoman said: "It was a good meeting, all very amicable and constructive, with everyone committed to working together in the interests of club and country."

Leicester Rugby director Richard Cockerill was not part of the meeting as he was busy with his team's preparations for the European Champions Cup clash on Friday.
