Cheslin Kolbe scored hat-trick of tries as Stormers trounced Sunwolves by 52-15 in their Super Rugby clash at DHL Newlands on Saturday.

After an early sin bin to Sunwolves' Derek Carpenter, Kolbe and EW Viljoen crossed over in the seventh and 14th minutes respectively but Teruya Goto replied back with a try of his own while kicked a conversion and a penalty on either side to bring down the gap to four points.

It was Stormers, who finished the first half strong with a nine point lead after Seabelo Senatla strolled past the post in the 38th minute.

Damian Willemse (45'), Dillyn Leyds (57' and 67') and Kolbe (75' and 80') all scored tries in the second half for Stormers as they took their tally to 25 points. Sunwolves only response in the second half came through a try from Takeshi Hino as they succumbed to a 37 point defeat.
