Stormers ended their three-game losing streak as they completed a 37-20 bonus point victory over Blues in their Super Rugby encounter at DHL Newlands on Saturday.

EW Viljoen scored the opening try for Stormers in the second minute and the lead soon doubled for the home side with Raymond Rhule crossing over in the 12th minute. Damian Willemse slotted the conversions on both the occasions.

Bryn Gatland pulled back things a bit with a 16th minute penalty but Stormers continued to dominate with their third try coming through Dewaldt Duvenage in the 35th minute while a conversion and a penalty from Willemse saw the hosts claim a 24-3 lead at half time.

The second half started on a positive note for Blues as Akira Ioane dived past the line in the 45th minute but his efforts were negated Viljoen crashed past the line for the second time in the game four minutes later. Michael Collins (56) and Reiko Ioane (68') scored further tries for Blues but back to back penalties from Willemse saw Stormers completed a 37-20 win.

Stormers now move to the second position in South African Conference while Blues languish at the bottom of the New Zealand Conference.
