Scarlets winger Steffan Evans has been cleared to play in the Pro 12 final for his side against Munster despite his red-card incident against Leinster in the semi-final in Dublin.

Evans, who scored the opening try for Scarlets in the play-off against Leinster last Friday was sent-off at the stroke of half-time for performing a dangerous tackle on Leinster and Ireland centre Garry Ringrose.

Despite, being one man down for the majority of the game, Scarlets successfully managed to overcome Leinster with a 15-27 victory to book a berth in the final of the tournament.

Having appeared before a disciplinary panel in Edinburgh on Wednesday, the majority of the decisions went in favour of the 22-year-old, thereby clearing him of any suspension.

This also means Evans will be available for Scarlets in the final against Munster and also for Wales in their upcoming Pacific tour.

A statement released on behalf of the PRO12 read: " The disciplinary panel - Roddy Dunlop QC (chair), Roddy MacLeod and Iain Leslie (all Scotland) - decided, by a majority, that the player undertook a lawful tackle in a manner that was consistent with the laws of the game.

"The tackle only became dangerous as a result of the intervention of Scarlets No 3 (Samson Lee)."
