Springboks playmaker Patrick Lambie is all set to make a Test return against the Wallabies after missing out on action since June due to concussion.

The 25-year-old fly-half was knocked out by Ireland flank CJ Stander in the opening Test at Newlands in June. Since then, Lambie woke up with a headache every day for three months.

"I'm thrilled to be back, very excited to be included in the group again. I've missed being part of the Springboks, so it is wonderful to be back," Lambie said ahead of the Rugby Championship Test at Loftus Versfeld.

Lambie returned to competitive rugby with Sharks in their Currie Cup game against the EP Kings.

“I’ve spent the last six weeks in gym, and I’ve done some good conditioning work and had a hit out with the Sharks so I’ve ticked all the boxes,” said Lambie.

"It has been quite frustrating sitting on the side, especially for how long it took to get better again.

"But thankfully I've been looked after well off the field."

However, the possibility of Lambie taking away the number 10 jersey from Elton Jantjies on Saturday is quite less, although it is definite he will play some part in the game, possibly coming off the bench at later stages.
