South Africa 37-15 Argentina, Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium
Scorecard

South Africa came up with a clinical performance at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday to register a 37-15 win over Argentina in the first round of Rugby Championship 2017.

A double penalty from Elton Jantjies were the only points in the game during the first quarter as South Africa managed a 6-0 lead. Argentina finally managed to get off the mark with a 31st minute touchdown from Martin Landajo but his efforts were negated by a touchdown from Courtnall Skosan as the home side went into half time with an eight point lead.

The second half saw both the teams compete equally with Nicholas Sanchez and Jantjies exchanging penalties. Raymond Rhule danced past the line to give South Africa a breathing space but Argentina replied back with a try from Emiliano Boffelli as the difference between the two teams continued to remain at eight at the end of the third quarter.

It was Springboks, who captured the decisive moment as Siya Kolisi and and replacement Pieter-Steph du Toit crossed over in the final quarter to help South Africa complete a 37-15 win.
