South Africa have extended their margin over the second positioned New Zealand in the World Rugby Rankings following their win over Argentina in the second round of the Rugby Championship.

Handre Pollard contributed with 19 points while Makazole Mapimpi and Malcolm Marx scored a try apiece as the Springboks went on to seal a 29-10 victory at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

The win has seen South Africa gain 0.29 rating points as they consolidated their top position with 94.49 points which is now 5.20 ahead of second placed New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Argentina lost 0.29 rating points as they now return back to seventh place with Australia moving to sixth.
