South Africa have confirmed a 28-man squad for their upcoming Rugby Championship clash against Argentina to be played in Mendoza next weekend.

Loose forwards Jean-Luc du Preez and Sikhumbuzo Notshe, lock Marvin Orie, scrum-half Ross Cronje, centre Jesse Kriel and winger Lwazi Mvovo are the players, who will miss the encounter at Estadio Malvinas Argentinas while flanker Cyle Brink will undergo surgery on his knee.

The squad also was handed a break on Sunday and are due to fly to Argentina on Sunday morning.

.“We’ll make a few changes. Four or five‚" said head coach Rassie Erasmus. “There will definitely be a different 28 on tour. We will select a different team.

“Elton (Jantjies) will definitely go tour with us. We will play around with what we think they will throw at us and what we think is the best team to handle that.

“Going there I don’t think we have the luxury of experimenting too much."

Head coach Erasmus will announce the matchday 23 squad on Thursday.

The Springboks are placed second in the Rugby Championship table following their 34-21 win over Argentina in last weekend's game in Durban.
