So all week we heard it, "Wales' best chance to beat Boksl"! Well it happened and its not like we expected more right?

The Boks need to beat everyone regularly even New Zealand. Failure to fully use all the talent in the country? Despite being the richest talent wise, they aim to be second unfortunately. Wales got only their second win ever, against South Africa. They played typical World Cup rugby and ground it out. Australia? Well their rugby really is dying. Another defeat and you don't see a light at the end of the tunnel. Going into the 2015; Six Nations and World Cup next up for the Northern sides and  they only really fear the threat of New Zealand. They still trying to find a way to stop that beast. As for the other Southern giants, they have seen them fall and only hope for replicated the slaughters. Spare a thought for Jean de villiers who needed a rest, but got it from the most cruel of manners possible. With rumors rife he will miss the World Cup, the Springboks may have to go back to not just the drawing board but also to some players who are out the picture.

The midfield tank has dried up. There is no more experience, let alone a leader. While Jean de villiers had a below par season, he had the leadership factor. It leaves South Africa without Jaque Fourie, Jean de villiers and Frans Steyn. Morne Steyn also discarded, the World Cup year will probably see new combinations everywhere; Fourie du preez, Pat Lambie, Bryan Habana, Damien de Allende/Jan Serfontein, JP Pietersen, Cornal Hendricks and Willie le Roux. The biggest worry being the centre combinations. The next Super season is crucial. Will a star be unearthed or habits of moving a player be once again abused. The tough calls need to be made; bring back Frans Steyn. The bustling centre/flyhalf and fullback is needed in European conditions. Not for his size, but the tactical and long shots at goal. Teams will make extra efforts not to transgress even in their half. JJ Engelbrecht? Remember him? Maybe this is his way back into the fold. There are very few options and for South Africa's sake they must choose the best one soon.

Referees are just a sad case. Not worth the ink we write with or the paper would use. Maybe Peter de villiers was right that there is a conspiracy and a set pattern results must go. MAYBE! The system is for protecting the man in the middle. Yet they commit blatant errors week after week. World Rugby must sort this out, because we expect a Bryce lawrence-replica display sometime next year.

The forgotten Jacques Potgieter needs to return to the fold. He could easily have been in this squad in whatever capacity. With Willem Alberts, Francois Louw the loose forward department does look healthy but such an addition can be accommodated. The other department of weakness is scrumhalf. With three going to a World Cup, seem Francois Hougaard will be watching from the couch if not playing Currie Cup. Guthro Steenkamp, is another veteran who has shown his time in the green and gold may be over. The  After the highs beating New Zealand,  2014 has ended with two defeats to Ireland and Wales. The year 2015 could be exciting for fans or a rather painful one. People revel about the three year tenure Meyer has had. How he has managed a high winning percentage but the Springboks have not achieved much to say they have progressed. A solitary win over New Zealand, finishing second on the World Rugby rankings and not looking like winning the rugby Championship. The year will be that of judgement. Before that, we watch the final dances starting with the Six Nations!

The countdown is on!
