Tonga international Soane Tonga'uiha has signed a one-year deal with Bristol for the upcoming season.

The 34-year-old prop will make a switch from French club Oyonnax which he joined in 2014 from Racing 92. Also this will be his second stint in Aviva Premiership after he was associated with Northampton Saints for seven years between 2006 and 2013 and made 184 appearances.

Tonga'uiha, who has made 21 appearances for Tonga last featured for his country during the 2015 World Cup against All Blacks.

Director of rugby at Andy Robinson praised Tonga'uiha for his consistency and hopes his services will benefit the club and other upcoming talents.

"Soane has a wealth of experience and has proven himself to be a consistent performer at the highest level," Bristol rugby director Andy Robinson told the club's official website.

"He will provide excellent guidance for our young props and understands what is required to be successful in the Premiership.

"We look forward to welcoming him into the squad for pre-season."

After winning the RFU Championship in the 2015/16 season, Bristol have gained a promotion to the Aviva Premiership for the upcoming season.
