Six-try Scarlets trounce Zebre with 42-7 bonus-point win

Scarlets 42 - 7 Zebre, Llanelli

Scarlets have consolidated their fourth position after thrashing Zebre by 42-7 in Llanelli during their Pro 12 clash on Friday.

Wing Steffan Evans (12'), flanker Aaron Shingler (28'), wing Tom Williams (33') scored tries in the first half for Scarlets while fly-half
Dan Jones followed with the conversions on all the three occasions to take the home team to 21 points at half-time.

In response, wing Mattia Bellini was the only try-scorer of the game for the visitors when he touched down in the 23rd minute with scrum-half Marcello Violi adding the extras and Zebre trailed by 14 points heading into the second half.

The onslaught from Scarlets continued in the second 40 minutes with lock Tom Price (49') crossing over to score the bonus point and 14 minutes later, Zebre replacement Bruno Postiglioni was sin-binned resulting in a penalty try.

Number eight Will Boyde capped off a fantastic game for the Welsh regional side scoring the sixth try in 72nd minute while Zebre failed to add any point in the second half.

With 49 points from 15 matches, Scarlets continue to remain fourth while Zebre are languishing at the bottom of the table after managing a solitary victory in 13 games.
