Scotland international Simon Berghan has penned a new deal with Edinburgh that will keep him committed with the Pro 12 club until 2019.

The 26-year-old prop made his professional rugby debut with the Scotland regional side in 2014 and has since then made 31 appearances in four seasons combined.

Berghan was also called-up to the Scotland side during the 2017 Six Nations tournament and has played three Tests coming off the bench.

"I feel we've got the makings of a very good squad and there's a lot of talent coming through the ranks. It's now about bringing that all together and pushing on in the coming season," said Berghan.

"Front row is a highly-competitive position and that will only drive standards. The battle for a starting spot will be extremely tough, but one in which I'll be looking to thrive."
