Glasgow Warriors lock Scott Cummings and Greg Peterson will be out of action for six months following a shoulder surgery.

The 19-year-old Cummings, who joined the club in 2015, sustained the injury during the pre-season clash against Gloucester while USA international and former Australia Under-20 Peterson suffered the blow last month during the game against Ulster.

A spokesman of the Pro 12 club confirmed that the second-row pair will be out for 24 weeks.

"Both players have commenced their rehab programmes and are expected to be unavailable for up to six months," he said.

The injuries continued to pile for the Scotstoun outfit as Namibia international Tjiuee Uanivi and centre Richie Vernon are still in rehabilitation from the shoulder problem.

Meanwhile, Glasgow Warriors also confirmed that Adam Ashe (hip and foot), Simone Favaro (shoulder), Chris Fusaro (knees) and Peter Horne (hand) are making satisfactory progress from their respective injuries.
